I think we have been teaching the wrong message about self care.
Self care DOES NOT = Selfish
As a recovering woman who put my needs below everyone else inside and outside of my family I no longer believe this!
Now I know when a person practices daily self care they shows up like the spouse, parent, friend, neighbor, person he/she wants to be.
Self Care can be whatever you need it to be. For me it could be moving my body, getting ready for the day, taking a bath, listening to a podcast or book, saying my prayers, going to yoga, walking, listening to music, taking a nap etc.. some days I need 5 minutes other days I need hours.
